Hi friends. It’s with an extremely heavy heart I am even doing this right now. But sometimes you can’t help but reach out to others for support.

It was discovered on March 23rd that my mom had masses on her liver and spine after going to the ER for pain and having a CT scan done. She had an MRI on 3/29 which showed a 3-inch mass in her skull. She had a liver biopsy done on 4/4 and a PET scan done on 4/12. We met with the oncologist on 4/14 where we were told she has stage 4 Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. The doctor told us this type of cancer is smart but slow-growing (she had this cancer in 2020/2021 also), but we have no idea how long she has had it this time around and it’s more likely she is towards the end of her life expectancy with this form and how she had declined in those few short weeks.

Mom was hospitalized from 4/22-4/25 due to increased pain levels making it nearly impossible for mom to do anything. It was there we discovered her calcium levels were dangerously high, which was causing heart problems as well. She was treated and discharged but since then we have not been able to get her pain level under control. Today she began hospice care and we were told she is in a “pre-active stage of death”.

Throughout the last month and a half, my dad has been by mom’s side, helping her and supporting her and nursing her every step along the way. He is the epitome of a devoted and loving husband. But, because of this, he has depleted his PTO with work and after this week will no longer have the bulk of his income. This is where we are asking for help. We are only asking for enough to cover a few months of bills, that way this is something else he does not need to worry about while taking care of mom.

Thank you for your consideration.
