Hi, I am asking for help to save my son. He has been struggling with heroin addiction for 2 years now. He is 24 years old and the oldest child in our family of 8. He's a wonderful big brother and his siblings want their brother back. We have insurance and it will cover all the expenses to a reputable and successful treatment center, except the deductible. The facility has graciously agreed to offer us a $3000 scholarship towards the deductible and we are now hoping to find funding for the other half, as well as the plane ticket. I am currently a full-time student and caretaker of our special needs child and my husband is trying to support our family on little to no income. If anyone is familiar with addictions, they understand that time is of the essence. When an addict finally says Yes to treatment, there is only a small window before the desire for the drug becomes stronger than the desire to change. I believe in paying it forward and now I am obtaining my degree in hopes of helping others with the same afflictions. This is a matter of life and death and I fear that if he doesn't receive the help now, we will be faced with losing a son. Something I just can't live with.
