Fighting for Minnie
Minnie’s early life wasn’t easy. She was found as a stray in Oklahoma and brought to Colorado by Lucky Day Animal Rescue. She was my first foster dog and holds a very special place in my heart. She was adopted by an AMAZING family and has been loving life with them until she fell ill this week. Minnie has been in and out of critical care as she has required multiple blood transfusions. She was diagnosed with Erhlichiosis which is a tick borne disease that causes the body to attack its red blood cells and in its later stages it is much harder to treat.
Minnie’s loving and devoted family has stayed by her side or as close by as possible (they slept in their car in the vet’s parking lot). They have exhausted all of their money and all of the local veterinary care and at the urging of their vet, they brought her to CSU veterinary hospital in Fort Collins which is 4-5 hours from their home in New Castle. Todate, the family has already spent nearly $6000 this past week and will at a minimum have a $5k bill from CSU, plus the cost of a hotel. I have attached photos of the vet bills from the vets in Basalt and Carbondale so everyone can see that this is not a scam.
Minnie deserves a happy and healthy rest of her life after such a rough beginning. Please help us by donating whatever you can and/or sharing this with as many people as possible!
Thank you!
