K9 Sam

K9 Sam needs our help! Sam is an 8 year old Shephard who has worked for Merced Police Department since 2016 as an apprehension/ narcotics K9. K9 Sam was rushed into emergency surgery on 09/23 for Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD). Sam is currently recovering from the surgery at the Veterinary Hospital at UC Davis and early estimations are the cost of his medical care will be between $10,000 to $15,000.

He is looking forward to healing up and enjoying his retirement at home with belly scratches and playing with his siblings! Sam is a valued member of the Merced community. He has been to several school functions, community events and loved spending time with children. He attended several events including Nation Night Out, Walk to end Alzheimer's, Breast Cancer Awareness and many others. Sam has served this community with dignity and honor for the past 7 years. The Merced Police Officers Association (MPOA) and Sam are asking for your help with the high cost of surgery. Although the surgery went well, Sam has a long road to recovery. Please help out in anyway you can!
