The McPherson County Sheriff's Office K-9 program is supported by donations, these funds will be used solely for K9 Ravi in order to purchase equipment, training, medical care, and other items or services needed for K9 Ravi.
One important purchase will be a ballistic harness designed to provide the ultimate protection for the canine without loosing any functionality. Unlike normal K-9 ballistic vests, this ballistic harness is lighter and more flexible allowing it to be worn for extended periods of time without any health or safety concerns. This ensures the K-9 is protected at all times even when situations were unforeseen.
K9 Ravi is a 7 year old Multi-Purpose Belgian Malinois certified in Tracking, Patrol and Narcotic Detection assigned to the Patrol Division of the McPherson County Sheriff's Office in Kansas.
He's certified to detect Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin, Marijuana and Methamphetamine. Ravi and his partner are the sole K-9 Unit in the 900 square mile county and supports the Sheriff's Office and 8 other law enforcement agencies within the county.
Since Ravi has arrived to the McPherson County Sheriff's Office 3 years ago, he has set the bar high and has become the most successful and productive K9 in the history of the Sheriff's Office K-9 programs. Ravi and his partner are responsible for the seizure of hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs, narcotics and hundreds of thousands of dollars in drug proceeds
