On 4/19, Kona was admitted for emergency surgery due to developing bloat or GDV. This is where the stomach flips and twists, causing gas build up inside. This is incredibly deadly, but luckily it was caught early on and she was able to have life saving surgery. She is now in recovery and on the mend, but the vet bills have stacked up. Emergency surgery is not cheap in the vet world and she will still have some costs due to her stay in the ICU there.

Kona has been a K9 in Stanislaus county for many years and has done her duty in keeping the city safe. We want to make sure she is taken care of and has the best health in return for her impactful work.
