Support Our Retired Military Working Dogs
My name is Ray Thomas, Director of the Royal Australian Air Force Dog Handlers Association (RDHA) and the K9 Australia Retired Military Working Dog Program.
This video highlights the exceptional medical care our Military Working Dogs (MWDs) receive while serving in the Defence Force—and the unwavering loyalty they show to their handlers. These courageous dogs operate in the same extreme and dangerous environments as our Defence Force personnel, performing at a level that often goes beyond human understanding.
However, once retired from service, these dogs no longer receive government support. Their food, medical care, and wellbeing become the sole responsibility of their former handlers, who continue to provide them with the love and care they deserve.
By supporting the Retired MWD Program, you are directly funding critical medical supplies for these dogs—heroes who served our country with loyalty and dedication.
As we are all volunteers, every dollar donated goes towards food and medication then directly to the handlers of these retired MWDs, ensuring they live out their retirement with the dignity and care they have earned.
