Hello!  My name is Rachael and I am a Kindergarten teacher at a school in the Fruitvale neighborhood of East Oakland.  Our students all receive free/reduced lunch, and many families struggle to make ends meet.  I've been teaching at this school for several years now, and truly love each and every day I spend with the students and families of this community.   

This year, we are trying to expose our students to as many rich, meaningful experiences as possible.  I am one of 5 Kindergarten teachers with 24 bright, curious students.   We have successfully obtained a grant to support our students in going to the Oakland Zoo, but we need your support to get there!  

We have scheduled buses for pick up, but are still short on funding to pay for the transportation costs.  Any contribution would be so greatly appreciated, as it helps us get one step closer to our grade level goal.  We need to reach our goal by the end of April.  I will post pictures of our students on the buses and at the Zoo to celebrate this experience, and share it with you!
