Help Joshua Recover From His Injury & Keep His Truck
So many of you know Joshua from Out of My Mindesigns, Urban Thrift, or Poppin’ Tags. He is a hard worker, always helping someone, and the first to volunteer when someone is in need. He has always put his family before himself, constantly thinking of others before his own needs. That’s just who Josh is—he has always been that way.
What Happened
In May, Joshua suffered a terrible accident when he fell off a ladder and unknowingly fractured five ribs. What seemed like an injury he could push through quickly turned into something much more serious.
The fractures caused internal bleeding that led to dangerous adhesions and a staph infection that spread throughout his body. After weeks of worsening pain and shortness of breath, he was rushed to the ER. A CT scan revealed his chest and lung were filled with fluid.
Joshua was admitted to the ICU, where doctors placed a chest tube to drain the fluid. After complications—including a collapsed lung—he had to undergo a major surgery called a VATS procedure. What was expected to be a routine operation turned into a grueling 4-hour surgery as doctors discovered extensive adhesions.
Now, Joshua has two new chest tubes, remains hospitalized, and faces a long recovery of 2–6 months.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Joshua is one of the kindest and most selfless people you could ever meet. He’s always the first to show up for others, but this time, he needs us.
Between not being able to work, mounting medical bills, and the risk of losing his truck—the very thing he relies on to work and live—we are asking for your support.
I’ve been covering as much as I can and will continue to, but it’s simply not enough to get through this long road ahead.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward Joshua’s:
Medical bills not covered by insurance
Living expenses during recovery, including his truck payment (a little over $1000/month), insurance, cell phone, and credit card bills used to stock the store over the years
Keeping his truck, so he has reliable transportation once he’s back on his feet
Every Bit Helps
No amount is too small. Whether it’s $5, $50, or more—every donation makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please share this page and keep Joshua in your prayers.
❤️ Thank you for standing with Josh during this fight. Just as he has always been there for others, let’s be there for him now.
