Family and Friends,
Many of you may not know about the tragedy that our family has endured over the past 2mths. JB was sent to the ER from his primary care physician after having chest pains and shortness of breath; only to discover he had an enlarged aorta and a severe aortic valve leakage in his heart. Essentially this required him to have immediate open heart surgery after symptoms continued within a few days. The surgery was very long and stressful for the whole family, but JB pulled through and surgery went well. However, his heart function has dropped to 10% within these past few weeks and he is in heart failure. His care has been transferred from here in Colorado Springs to the Denver University where he will see a heart specialist. They are very optimistic they can get his heart back up to a normal function, but it will not be an overnight process. We initially chose not to burden everyone's hearts with the worry by not telling people about the news; however, due to the severity of his heart condition, we felt that it was important to finally share this with those of you that we consider family and friends. With God's grace and glory, his heart will grow stronger in the hands of the heart specialist. We ask for each of you to keep JB and our family in your prayers as we overcome this obstacle in our lives. We have prayed about our situation and our struggles and have come to the conclusion it is time to ask for help. Due to pride, asking for help has been one of our largest hurdles, therefore we have not asked, until now. Not only have we had a significant emotional burden, but we are now feeling a significant financial burden. The medical bills from surgery and doctors visits are so much more than we could have imagined, in addition to that, JB has been out of work due to this condition for the past two months. It is with great difficulty that we find ourselves now asking for any help that you are able to offer. Anything you can give to help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please remember to keep JB in your prayers. GOD Bless.
