Hello! Late last year, we did a GoFundMe for Shannon and Baby Alexis to help with all the expenses when Alexis was born and in ICU for an extended period. The time for heart surgery is upon us. Shannon and Alexis have been at the Children's Hospital in Houston for about a month now, and are expected to be there another month. Much longer than expected initially. Alexis was failing to thrive and the necessary surgeries became imperative instead of continuing to wait for Alexis to gain weight. As of right now, Alexis has had two heart cath procedures in an effort to repair a valve defect and manage a blood clot. She spent numerous days in the ICU being stabilized and is now back on the cardiac floor. The repair assisted in helping the heart pump better and Alexis is now gaining more weight. The surgeons are wanting to continue monitoring her. They are working on getting her weight and blood where they want it (she's on blood thinners), and they will perform her openheart surgery in about two weeks. All that to say, Shannon has been unable to work during all of this time. Bills pile up and add to stress unnecessarily.
