A little back story to this… Cole and Paige had twin boys a little early on September 10th, 2015. Paige is the daughter of my dear friend Amy’s. I met Amy, Paige and the rest of her family while they lived in Nebraska and they became like family to me. However, Amy now lives in Tennessee and Paige and her husband Cole live in Montana. Because they are so far away, it’s challenging to be there and support them during such a difficult time which is why I am starting this support group. To show them they have a crowd of people cheering for them, friends and family far away supporting and loving them and most of all doing anything we can to help their little family.
Paige certainly didn’t have an easy pregnancy. She was met with many challenges along the way but handled them with great courage and a mother’s love. And though it hasn’t been easy for Cole either, he has been Paige’s rock through all of this. Paige delivered the twins in Seattle, Washington prepared with the best team of doctors available to them. Knox Alexander and Kamden Dean made their debut into the world a week ago today and hours after birth, Knox was admitted to Seattle Children’s hospital while Paige and Kamden remained at the University Hospital.
Baby Knox was born with a heart defect that Cole and Paige knew about before his birth. What they didn't know, was that he also had an esophageal fistula, which was repaired by surgery on the night he was born. He is doing amazingly well and has remained strong and resilient! However after Knox recovers from his esophagus surgery, he has a heart surgery to prepare for! Which is where we all come in. This young couple remain positive though it all but unfortunately have a mountain to climb. With Cole being back to work in Montana and Paige remaining with the boys in Washington, it certainly doesn’t make things any easier for them. Let’s all unite together and do what we can to help them climb that mountain.
