Dear friends and kind-hearted individuals,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Akshith Reddy Bhandra’s untimely passing. On July 20th 2024, Akshith drowned at Zion Beach near Chicago. He went swimming with a friend but unfortunately couldn’t keep up and tragically drowned.

Akshith was a beacon of kindness and friendliness, touching the lives of everyone he met. He came to the USA to pursue his master’s degree, graduating from Valparaiso University, and was currently on OPT, striving to build a promising future. His dedication extended beyond academics; he was a sportsman who participated in district-level karate competitions, always driven to achieve more.

This devastating loss has left his family in tears, grappling with the sudden absence of their beloved son and brother. We are reaching out to you, our community, to help support Akshith’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Funds are being raised to cover the costs of sending Akshith’s remains back to India, hospital bills, and funeral expenses. Any contributions will go directly towards these expenses and providing some financial relief to his grieving family.
