Life Comes at You Hard

I had hoped it would never come to this, but it has, and I'm fast running out of options.

When my grandparents became less able to take care of themselves, I quit my job to become a full time paid caregiver to take care of the things they could no longer do themselves. When my grandmother passed in 2013, my grandfather's condition declined further both physically and mentally, and he never really recovered.

At the beginning of December, 2015, my grandfather was taken to the emergency room and hospitalized for unexpected complications with his Parkinson's disease. His condition rapidly declined, and he passed away ten days later.

Now I am attempting to find another job and get my life back on track, but time is running out for me.  My savings have almost run out, and I found out today my family has a buyer interested in the house who will want me to vacate ASAP. I cannot afford to move, or to put my things in storage. I have applied for multiple positions in a 100-mile radius, but have only been contacted for an interview one time so far, a job that I did not get. I am in my grandparents' will for a small sum, but it will take months for the inheritance to be processed and finalized, and even if I were to receive it today, it wouldn't do much to help my situation for long. My family has no place for me to stay, and I am becoming desperate. I stand to lose everything I own. I have applied for public assistance, but that also takes time to process that I do not have. To make matters worse, I have an unexpected tax bill for $387 from the IRS, after having thought I'd paid off my taxes for 2014 in full.

With your help, I hope to be able to finance a living space in a small apartment while I continue to look for work.  Any money I receive will be used to finance rent, relocation, and basic living expenses, as well as paying off my debt to the IRS in 2014. Anything left over will be applied to my 2015 tax bill, which I expect will be around $1,300.

I have always wanted to work and have never turned to the public for help before, but I have also never been caught this flat-footed by life circumstances before, and would be grateful for any help you can give me. Most people don't realize how they're one catastrophe away from homelessness until that catastrophe happens. I thank you for taking the time to read this, and hope you can help out.
