Over the summer my closest friend..Lyla was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
In October she had a double masectomy and 6 of her 10 lymph nodes removed.
She has since started 4 visits of double dose chemo every other week..Then will go to chemo once a week for the next 12 weeks..Upon completeing that she will move onto radiation, In hopes of keeping the cancer from spreading more than it already has.
They are now a one income family since her diagnosis, as she will not be able to return to work for at least another 6-8 months. A large family with financial strain-is not a needed stress as she should be focusing on her wellness.
The bills and co-pays are adding up quickly..$80 a visit and a cap of how much shall be covered by the insurance.
Back in October, Jims co workers and friends came together to purchase "Pumpkin Head" that you see on their front lawn..Izzy has been kind enough to accept payments..but this as well also has a balance.
I am hoping with the GoFundMe and the upcoming Fundrasier we are planning.. that we can help Jim & Lyla as they have helped others in our community.
The aim is to help keep the financial stress to a minimal she she can focus on her health.
Many know how amazing of a person she is..her laugh, smile and humor..she is strong willed..fearless and full of hope..
I have had the pleasure of calling her my best friend/sister/partner in crime-double trouble/and copilot for the last 20 years..
