AORTA REPLACEMENT SCREW REMOVAL AT MAYO CLINIC

Since this morning I have been milling over all this. I spoke with the Dr. At the mayo clinic today. They really feel that the screws need to be removed from my aorta area. I trust that the best hospital and surgeons know what's best. I do have some resentment around the first Dr's. I saw. But I mean at least they didn't do something they were not comfortable with. I will be getting surgery on my aorta and back at the end of this month or beginning of April. They should have a concrete date around the 11th.

I thought l maybe I should share a few things. I just turned 50 on February 13 this year. I am a mom of 4. Ages 27, 25, 12, and 10. Three boys one girl! For the last 23 years I was a veterinary technician. I truly loved what I did as a career! As a youth I showed horses at a high level till I was 25. So safe to say I've always loved animals! As an adult I love going to see live music, I love festivals, I love Harry Potter, John Wick, Marvel, camping, hiking, horses are my soul.

My oldest son lives out in California where we are from. My two littlest are proud little performers with School of Rock here in Louisville. My other son works here at Ford. My better half works for spectrum.

This surgery is mostly covered by insurance. But there is Hotel, food, and travels. Not to mention missed work, recovery and all the things. We are are a hard working, busy, loving family! All of this will be far above what we bring in. So here we are.. I know not everyone likes go fund me. But there are so many other ways you could help us out IF your able. Food cards, hotels reservations, air lines, good vibes, prayers all the above!

This surgery is going to be all-round 7 to 10 hrs long. There will be a neurosurgeon to remove the screws, cardiovascular surgeon, and an aorta surgeon. They will be either be repairing with a patch type thing. Or replacing my aorta from what I understand.

I am extremely scared. But, more worried for my kids and family and their needs during and after. Anyone who truly knows me knows my kids are my world! My husband is a true ride or die. And in this case let's hope it's a ride!
