Service Dog for Olivia
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Melissa and I am raising funds for my daughter, Olivia Boatman. Olivia is an artistic, fun-loving, bright 15-year-old young lady who loves to bake and dreams of being a pastry chef and business owner. She started experiencing some neurological issues in March 2023. She began having twitches/neck jerking movements, stuttering, left-sided weakness, struggling with her balance, extreme fatigue, and zoning out (non-epileptic seizures). Olivia was finally diagnosed with a rare disorder called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). There is no known cause or cure. We are still in the beginning of this journey and learning more about FND. We have learned that FND makes Olivia's anxiety disorder worse and that she would benefit from a service dog for medical support. A service dog would be tailored to Olivia and help her feel comfortable with her surroundings, stay by her side, provide support, and get help when needed. As a family of 7 and due to the financial need for medical appointments, we need help in raising funds in order to provide the service dog that Olivia would benefit from. We have spoken with a local certified service dog trainer and a local breeder of Australian Labradoodles. The funds raised will cover the 2 year training course, the dog, the first year of food, vet care, preventative care, grooming, and supplies. Please consider donating whatever is possible for Olivia and to continue to offer your prayers as we continue on this journey.
