Joseph and Taylor Toomey
Many of you know Joseph and Taylor Toomey and their sweet love story. They were were married October of 2013. Last Friday, Taylor became ill and Joseph had to take her to the emergency room. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. She spent the last five days witnessing to anyone who would listen in Mobile Infirmary and USA Medical Center. Taylor seemed to know her fate and wanted to share the Lord with anyone who would listen. On January 14, 2015 Taylor went to be with the Lord. I think it is only appropriate to share her last facebook post. On January 12 at 6:44pm she wrote: "I want everyone who is reading this post to please pray for me. Im having a right heart cath at 8am. They said there is a possibility that this could be something else. So pray when i get out that it wont be as seriouse. Also pray it wont be anything more seriouse. Also pray for yourselves and family and anything else. Thanks to everybody for all the support!
— feeling blessed." As most of you know, Joseph is a quadriplegic and a full time student at the University of Mobile. Taylor did not have insurance. The medical bills and funeral arrangements are mounting. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but the most important thing is to listen to Taylor's last words and pray for yourself.
When this GoFundMe “campaign” was first started, it was only hoped to lessen the financial burden that follows a family after such tragedy. Although funeral arrangements and medical bills will likely far exceed the amount, the original goal was set at only $5,000. It is such a blessing to have reached and exceeded the goal in less than 18 hours. On behalf of Joseph and Taylor’s family, I would like to thank everyone who has donated or shared their story. Every dime helps not only ease the financial burden, but also shows the immense love we all have for Joseph and Taylor. The date, time, and location of the funeral arrangements will be posted once they have been finalized. Please continue to keep Joseph, his family, and Taylor’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this difficult time. God Bless.
