Fundraiser for Baby Adalynne
Donation protected
Baby Adalynne Marcella Scherer was born on July 10, 2014 and suffers from the rare, terminal illness of Hydranencephaly, a condition in which the brain’s cerebral hemispheres are absent and are replaced by sacs filled with cerebrospinal fluid. The illness causes her head to grow more rapidly than that of a healthy baby and un-proportionally with the rest of her body. Doctors were not optimistic about her condition, informing the family that she might not live past birth, and at most, would only live to be a year old.
At two months old, it became necessary for Adalynne to undergo a form of brain surgery, Chorord Plexectomy, to help stop the production of cerebrospinal fluid. This surgery was performed in the hopes of helping to reduce her suffering and extending her lifespan, if only for a short time. Adalynne, who is now six months old is blind, suffers from degenerative muscular function, struggles with eating and suffers from multiple severe seizures daily. Hospice is currently assisting the family.
Family and friends of baby Adalynne are fundraising in order to help her family with the growing cost of medical bills, everyday expenses, and the inevitable and impending burden of funeral expenses. Please help us by donating to this precious little girl and her family!
