My name is Angela Startt Ramos and my Sister Jackie (Startt) Huff was part of the Homeless Community, early Saturday morning (June 17th, 2023) at 12:20 a.m. A tragic accident in Durham, N.C. ended her life too soon. Her Service Dog Vixen was struck and killed by a car and Jackie went into the road to try to rescue her beloved service dog and also was struck by a car that did not see her. She passed away at the scene.
Jackie had a love for her dogs, especially her service dog Vixen like no other, and was always helping others before herself within the homeless community. She left behind her daughter and 4 sons, 3 grandchildren, a Sister, Aunts, Uncles, and several cousins.
The family is still in shock and struggling to get her cremated and funeral arrangements made. Our family is very spread out throughout the United States and beyond (Wyoming, Michigan, North Carolina, Florida, and Germany). We are all trying to do our best to make these arrangements but we are in need of a little help. Jackie was only 50 yrs old and did not have a Will or Life Insurance. The family needs to cremate her and it will cost nearly $2000. We are asking you all for a little help in raising these funds so anything you can help donate will be appreciated. We need to raise these funds for her cremation by June 30th before they begin to start charging daily for storing her body.
Jackie and her service dog will be forever loved and missed. If you can donate any amount the family will be forever grateful.
Thank you
