My name is Stephanie Spaits, and I have had the pleasure of working with Olivia's mother for the past two years at Vaughn Elementary.  Olivia's mom, Ann Marie works in a special education classroom where she provides endless love and support for our exceptional students at Vaughn. 

Last Friday, Ann Marie and her husband Chris got the news every parent dreads to hear. Their baby girl Olivia had been in a freak accident and was being careflighted to the hospital. Upon arrival, Olivia was rushed into surgery and has since then been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Over the weekend, doctors made the decision to keep her sedated to help reduce the risk of brain pressure. Sunday, the MRI showed a second operation would be too risky and have since decided to stop with MRI’s completely due to the possibility of too much exposure to radiation. 

Olivia is a Frisco graduate from Independence High School, class of 2019. Chris, Ann Marie and her sister Ashley need to be focused on Olivia and her healing.
