In Memory Of Rick Dickau
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chris and I'm raising money on my mom's behalf to help with medical and end-of-life bills after the unexpected passing of my stepdad. My mom and I were devastated when Rick took a fall and suffered a traumatic brain injury while walking their dog. He was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical, but his injuries were deemed too severe to perform emergency surgery and he passed after several days.
Rick was so friendly with everyone in the neighborhood and they loved to chat with him when he took their dog Henney on his walks. He had a very strong bond with Henney and we can tell that he misses Rick. He worked in the deli department at ShopRite where he had a great relationship with all his coworkers, as well as the customers that would love to joke around with him. He grew up in Wanaque, NJ where he was a volunteer firefighter and EMT in his younger years. My mom is disabled after back surgery and Rick put her well-being above anything else, taking her to various medical appointments and other obligations that she could not do on her own.
Rick was also miraculously the recipient of a liver transplant six years ago, but unfortunately this created issues with him securing life insurance. I'm doing my best to help but she will need a lot more financial assistance with Rick's medical and end-of-life bills and help to just generally get back on her feet after this sudden tragedy in our lives.
Any amount that people can spare is deeply appreciated, and sharing the link to this GoFundMe is just as crucial for helping my mom.
