OPERATION KARMA

Karma's story is well known and inspirational. Every one of us with even a bit of love and compassion knows the heartache and triumph of Karma's battle......or should that read battles.

Left to rot with injuries so savage and destructive, Karma would find kindness at Furever Farm, where his every need would be supplied. These needs included extensive surgeries to amputate a rear leg unable to be fixed. It would see a savaged undercarriage tenderly cared for daily, allowing a slow healing process where, eventually, ripped and scarred skin and flesh would return to normal.

But, after countless operations and post-op treatment it would be found that Karma had one more huge barrier to overcome. As a result of his initial dog attack, Karma's urethra would be severed. This would see him passing urine from an unaided hole in his body. When this hole eventually closed, Karma had no exit with which to expel urine.

An operation was performed to provide Karma with a catheter. Unfortunately, this catheter would fail after only a few days, stepping Karma back to a precarious square one. But, this boy so loved was simply not going to be left to die by Furever Farm. Every single opportunity would be considered and acted upon before any hint of defeat was to be mentioned. In stepped the specialist surgeons from Roseworthy Vet. They would evaluate Karma and plan the next move.

Karma would have two last options to save his life. Both reconstructions of his bladder line, and both high risk, lengthy and expensive surgeries. But, there was no decision to be made. It simply had to be done.

Karma would go into surgery on Tuesday September 10 and come through with flying colours, such is the example of his strength, tenacity and will to live. Whilst Karma remains on site with the vet for post-op care, the signs are very promising. Here is where need the kindness of people to help up save Karma; to aid us in paying for this operation. An exact total is yet to be obtained, but pre-op quotations guaranteed the entire process to reach, at least, $6000.

Karma is such a sweet angel who has endeared himself to all. His battle has been stoic, his acceptance of all remarkable, and his endless love truly amazing. He has soldiered through so much on a hopeful path to full recovery. There is no way his life can be denied.

Please, if you can, dig deep for this lovable sheep named Karma. For he is the epitome of warmth and innocence. Karma just wants to live with his wooly family. All of us are here to ensure that this happens.
