Support Shawn's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Makenna, and I am Shawn's niece.

On September 7th, 2024, Shawn went for a ride on his motorcycle and was on his way home when another driver turned in front of him, causing him to t bone her SUV. He was unconscious and intubated by EMS and then transported to McLaren Macomb where they stabilized him in the emergency department and transferred him directly to the ICU. Shawn sustained injuries including a broken jaw, shattered elbow, broken wrist, fractured knee, many lacerations, and brain injuries. Shawn has already gone through many surgeries for the physical injuries, and saying he has a long road ahead of him for healing is an understatement. He has been transferred to a rehab facility to help rehabilitate his physical and brain injuries. Shawn is currently struggling with day-to-day tasks and is frequently confused from the accident. We have full faith that Shawn will recover.

Shawn's wife, Billieann, has been nothing short of amazing to Shawn during this time and has not left his side through every waking moment. Unfortunately, neither Shawn nor his wife have any income coming in and are unsure when this will start or when either of them will be able to return to work. We want nothing more than to bring Shawn home in the future, and he needs his family and wife during this time to help support him. If anyone knows Shawn, they know he is one of the most hardworking men and would give anything to help anyone at any time. He loved nothing more than working on cars, driving his motorcycle, and being there for his family and friends. Unfortunately bills have started to pile up including mortgage, utilities, gas, food, his wife's stay with him and the care for his step daughter Mariah.

I have created this fundraiser to ease some of the burden as they go through this difficult time, any little bit helps to support Shawn and the family.
