Hi. This is Shogun (@Shogunthedoberman on Instagram). He is our baby boy and we love him beyond words. He is loved by many of you as well and we sincerely and deeply thank you for that. Shogun is needing help right now. Shogun has DCM. He has responded well to all the medications necessary to keep him alive for a few years. This is amazing! I think of it as a miracle because most often this horrible disease takes these dogs without their loved ones even knowing they had it. Or worse they get the diagnosis because of a rapid health decline when it’s already too late to save them. So we are very clear, we are the lucky ones. Despite him having this horrible disease he has been able to be here with us and live a normal albeit restricted lifestyle. Recently though, Shogun has been feeling ill. We have taken him to the vet, done X-rays an EKG and a 24 hour Holter. We are trying new medications now but he is still declining. We are not sure if it is some of the medications or if his heart is just simply getting too tired. We have been told we need to look further into the cardiology aspect of what is happening and that requires taking him to an emergency Cardiologist for more testing and repeat testing to get answers. I am hoping for one more push to see if we can get some definitive answers and save him or to know if it is his time to leave us. I am humbly asking if you can help us to get these answers and possibly save him. Whatever you can do. Donations big or small. Every little bit will help.
