Support Michael’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
May 19th, approximately 11:45 pm in the Westminster Promenade, Michael was in an accident where we suspect he was hit by a car while he was walking through the Bowlero parking area to come get me from the bus stop. Due to the extent of his injuries and the vehicle taking off, he has little to no memory or information regarding the accident, only the suspected moments prior.

He has 6 staples in his head, a partially collapsed lung, two broken ribs in his back, one broken rib on his side, and a fractured scapula (shoulder blade). He is also covered in various cuts, bruises, and road rash all over his body and face. The vehicle in question (to his spotty memory) was a grey minivan, possibly a Town and Country, with a hitch storage tray attached behind. The people in the vehicle appeared to be sleeping and/or living out of their van and immediately threatened to shoot Michael if he got any closer to the van he was walking past. He said he didn't want trouble, continued walking away, heard the van start, and that is all he remembers.

Police have been less than reassuring that any justice will be served, so I wanted to try to get the word out if anyone may happen to see this vehicle near the area. This was too close a call; we are all beyond grateful he survived. Michael is still in the hospital; we are hopeful for his release Thursday, but we will wait and see. He will not be able to use his left side for at least 6 weeks, and there will be a scan tomorrow morning to check on his lung. He will not be able to work for about 6 weeks, and he does not have health insurance. We are now asking anyone who is willing and able to contribute to the stacking medical bills and expenses to come. Thank you for all the support and love we have received so far. Michael has a long road to recovery ahead, but he is so strong, and with all the love and support he's gotten, he will be better than ever one day soon.
