Helping blind kids see Jesus.

My name is Brian Allen.
For most of my life I was an angry, violent, drug using, womanizing, self absorbed, alcoholic, racist and then I met Jesus.
I never knew what real love looked like until I saw what Jesus did on the cross for a sinner like me and everthing changed. I started reading the bible and began to fall more and more in love with this man named Jesus and I couldnt live a life filled with hate anymore. I read about how Jesus showed love to everyone he met and that through Him all things were possible. I started a homeless ministry 8 years ago thats still going strong today to provide meals and love to the least of these in my community.
Where God really wrecked my heart was when I went to Burkina Faso, Africa to visit my Compassion International kids. Whe took a tour of the Shialom School for the Blind and I have never been the same. At the time there were 70 orphans that the school had taken in as orphans and only had one small building to house them. In the culture in that area most children with a disability are seen as demon possessed. Several of those children are taken far away from their homes, tied to trees and left to die alone and helpless. This school takes these children in, no questions asked.
Most all the children slept outside in the courtyard on metal cots with no roof or protection. The temperatures are upwards of 120 degrees, mesquitoes are terrible during the rainy season which leads to rampant malaria, and knowing these children had to live in these conditions broke my heart. I couldn't sleep without seeing their precious little faces. Since then God has moved in mighty ways and I have had the priviledge of helping see a two story dorm and classrooms building go up and to finish the entire structure the only thing we need is the roof.
The roof amount is around $8000.00. Please pray and give as God leads. I have seen him provide over $20,000 so far in this process and I know that He will provide the rest. Please share this with everyone you know and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly on my personal cell phone. [phone redacted]. I will be forever grateful for your help in this matter and I know more than anything these childrens lives will be better because of your generosity. You can help make a real difference! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
God bless you and thanks for making a difference!
I will be traveling back to Burkina Faso to finish the roof in May. This area made the news recently because of a vicious terrorist attack. The hotel I have stayed at and the cafe we eat at all the time where attacked. I knew people at both palces that were killed. We are still going back because Jesus said to Go. That's the essence of the Gospel. Showing love in the tough places as well as the easy ones. Please keep our team in your prayers.
