As many already know, my son Calvin has suffered with seizures since 4 months old. About a year ago, Calvin began complaining of headaches. His neurologists told us to keep track of how often he was complaining of them. In August of 2024, we had an appointment with his neurologists, and they prescribed a medication to help treat the headaches. During this time, we also increased his seizure medication because he started having more frequent seizures.

October comes, and the headaches intensified more, and he was getting no relief from the medicine. Calvin's doctor decided to try another medication, along with ordering a brain MRI and sleep study. In November, we did his MRI, and on the MRI, they found an Arachnoid Cyst. Neurology informed us he would need to meet with a neurosurgeon, along with upping his pain medication to the highest dose they could. We met with a neurosurgeon at the end of November, and he said he did not believe the cyst needed to be removed.

Fast forward to February 5th, 2025, Calvin had a headache for four days with no relief from his pain medication nor over-the-counter medicine. Wednesday morning, I noticed Calvin's pupils were 2 different sizes, and his hands and arms were shaking like he was in pain. I called his neurologists, and they informed me to take him to the emergency room. On February 7th, 2025, we met with his neurology team, and they informed us we would be sent to Jacksonville, FL, to meet with a neurosurgery team, and Calvin would have the cyst removed. We are waiting on the doctor to call us and tell us a date for his first appointment down in Jacksonville. This first appointment will determine if they think it is best to remove this cyst or what the best course of action would be to help relieve this symptoms Calvin is experiencing.

During this time, we would need help with traveling expenses and food costs, recovery items and comfort items for Calvin that might help him during this time. During this time, we also would just like prayers for our family and the team of doctors!
