Hi Everyone,
My name is Madison Cervenka, I am currently putting this GoFundMe together to help my family and I with expensive vet bills. On Sunday January 28th, 2024, our family dog Blaze: 2-year-old Husky began with a sudden onset of uncontrollable regurgitating: acting in a way like he had something stuck in his throat. With a quick response we examined the inside of his mouth and found nothing. The decision was made to take him to Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, upon his arrival at QVC they took radiographs which has revealed Aspiration Pneumonia. Blaze has continued with the regurgitation, which has led them to believe he is dealing with Gastrointestinal Ileus... which means the intestines shut down and stop moving food and digestive fluids through and out. This then causes the back up of gastric fluid in the digestive system, which causes fluid buildup in the stomach. To help alleviate some of the pain and discomfort from the fluid buildup and remove the fluid they have placed a NG tube (Nasal Gastric). QVC staff have run numerous tests to rule out anything that may be causing this to happen. He has been tested for Addison’s Disease, Eosinophilic Myositis, Hypothyroidism, Megaesophagus, Foreign Body Ingestion, and Myasthenia Gravis. We are waiting for the results for the Myasthenia Gravis as it is sent out to San Diego, all other testing has come back negative. So as of right now he is receiving intense supportive care to make sure his electrolytes and hydration stay normal and treating Gastrointestinal Disease and Aspiration Pneumonia with IV antibiotics and medications. The staff has said when the gastric reflux and regurgitation stops, and pneumonia resolves they will be able to safely put him under anesthesia for an Endoscopic exam of his stomach and GI tract with biopsies. Upon completion of the Endoscopic exam they will have a better idea on how to treat him and what this could be. They are leaning towards this being a very severe case of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but until results and exam is done supportive care will need to be continued. Blaze is a great dog full of life, and a huge goofball, and losing him would be one of the worst things for us as a family. No pet should ever have to deal with this.
All donations made with will directly put towards the outstanding bill for the duration of Blaze's care.
