Support for Addie

Donation protected
In June of 2019, Emily, Jordan and Adelaide (Addie) decided to start the process of saving for a house, and moved in with Emily’s parents in the family home she grew up in.

On June 1st, 2020,  just a mere 10 days before closing escrow on their new home, Addie was found in the backyard pool. Her mother immediately jumped in after her, and started CPR. Addie was life flighted to Rady’s Children’s Hospital where she remains now, receiving around the clock care and monitoring.

Obviously, due to the current circumstances, Emily and Jordan cannot be with Addie together, but rather, they must rotate spending time with her in the PICU. Additionally, the rest of Addie’s family is not admitted and have been sitting outside the hospital day and night since her arrival.

While we are continually awestruck with the miraculous strides Addie is making each day, we understand that this recovery will be a marathon, not a sprint.

That being said, many of you have approached our family asking how you can donate or offer assistance to the Friskes at this time.

So much is still uncertain, but for now we know that we are definitely staring down the barrel of medical bills from Addie’s rescue and hospital stay, plus additional costs for the outpatient care she will require after she can be discharged.

Lastly, because of COVID, the Ronald McDonald House that typically offers housing to parents of children admitted to Rady’s, is closed. Consequently, Emily and Jordan have been staying at a hotel near the hospital so that they are able to rotate shifts quickly.

Any funds raised will be used to cover these 3 expenses; however, should there be a miraculous surplus, Emily and Jordan would love to make a donation or establish a fund in Addie’s name that teaches parent’s the skill that saved Addie: CPR. The doctors have literally credited Emily and Jordan’s quick and competent reaction, to saving Addie’s life.

Thank you all for everything you have done for this little girl and her family. Within hours of this incident, hundreds of people were organizing prayer chains, and support to help this little girl and her family.

We will never be able to thank you enough, however, we hope that the next time you see Addie, in person, walking, talking and laughing you will know that you played a part in her miracle.

With Love,

Auntie Erica
