5 months ago, I was so excited to start my “adult” life in my very own apartment! Little did I know that

just weeks after moving in, I would become incredibly ill. In a time of life where I should be having fun

with my boyfriend and friends, exploring life, I instead have been home bound with a severe illness that

made me feel sick every day for the last 5 months!

For months and months, I was in and out of the Emergency room and seen by what feels like 100

doctors trying to figure out why I was losing so much weight, (nearly 20 lbs. in under 3 weeks!) and

battling Kaiser every step of the way for a diagnosis. Tests after tests, frustrations got so high, I felt like I

was losing my mind. Up at all hours every night laying in a tub to feel better or on the phone with my

mom for comfort.

After speaking to numerous doctors around the country, and MANY symptoms later, we finally got

Kaiser to agree that something was WRONG. Just last week, we got the diagnosis that I have a tumor in

my head, causing many issues, including most recently severe headaches, and blurred or spotted vision.

We are still in the process of figuring out my next steps with my health, but the one thing that I do

know, I need my Mom! I need to be with family!

Unfortunately, leaving my apartment means I am breaking a lease I could have never imagined leaving

so soon, when I thought this was going to be the time of my life. They have not been very

compassionate with my departure and are still going to charge me an early termination fee along with

rent, nearly $7,000 just to allow me to move home. Having been so sick, I have been fortunate enough

to work from home part time, but it is not nearly enough to get me out of this rent.

I am a hard worker and was proud to have been able to do this on my own, with my loving and

supportive boyfriend Shawn. However, I am asking our family and friends to help me move home, so I

can have the sense of comfort I really need right now, and my mom can help with anything that happens

health wise in the future.

I know it is a lot to ask, but truly anything helps.
