D.V. Survivor: Help Raise Funds For Relocating
Donation protected
Over the past several months, I have gone through some extremely difficult & trying times. As most of you know, my current income is only $571 in SSDI (photo attached), and I'm on every possible housing waitlist there is, and have applications with homeless shelters as well. I'm a victim of both domestic violence & sexual assault, and have even worked with nonprofits that are catered to helping women in my position. Unfortunately, due to the back-to-back hurricanes Florida experienced, as well as the housing crisis, I've been unable to find anywhere to live and my yearly lease is up at the end of May 2025. My landlord HAS agreed to let me stay one more month, if I can pay the rent on June 1st. (Text message from landlord attached). After purchasing a storage unit, paying for May's bills, working on getting part of my car fixed, paying my overdue balance on a few doctor's fees, & attempting to sell many of my belongings, I'm still a little short on rent.
The benefits of me being able to stay one more month at my residence:
• It gives me enough time to finish packing my belongings, so I can find a way to get them into storage (which I have secured), as opposed to possibly losing a majority of my belongings because I physically cannot finish packing everything in the next few days AND move it all to my storage;
• It buys me more time for my applications to be processed, including my SSI application that was filed.
• I have an interview at the end of this month, to work-from-home at hours that I choose, & which won't affect my SSDI. I've already passed the 1st interview, & this is the 2nd/final interview. God willing, if I get selected, it will allow me to earn some money during June (before the month is up), which may help me find a more affordable place to live.
• After the month of June, there IS a place for me to stay. The room currently isn't built or ready, which is why I cannot move into it now.
Any amount is greatly appreciated!
