Justice for Nina
Donation protected
I am trying to raise the money to hire an attorney to get justice for my fur baby, Nina. On December 17, 2015 at around 4:30 in the afternoon, a neighbor of mine, Percy Lunsford, murdered my sweet girl while I was out running a few errands for the upcoming Christmas holiday. dark but He saw my vehicle was gone and thought it would be the perfect time to do the unthinkable. What he didn't know was my son, Hunter was at home. Nina was out on her lead, only 15-20' from my front door. Lunsford pulled up in front of my house and began to fire his ,380 handgun at Nina. After firing a few shots to put her down, he walked up to her. As he stood over her, he fired more shots off at her. Once he was sure she was dead, he unhooked her from her lead and drug her to the back end of his truck and loaded her up into it and drove off. My son called me scared and upset after witnessing the entire horrific ordeal. I called 911 to have a deputy dispatched out to my home. The deputy told my mother they knew exactly who did it and that they were headed down to arrest him. Unfortunately, Lunsford had enough time to dump my baby out like trash on the dirt road by my house and take off before the deputy arrived. With tips from some of the other people on my road, I knew he wasn't gone long enough to take her body off too far. My mother, a family friend, my son and I went out to look for her body so I could at least give her a proper burial. Thankfully I was able to find her body but I was not at all prepared for what I saw. It was completely horrific. What he did to our baby was so cold hearted. It is still hard to imagine. And my son has that image I'm sure, stuck in his head. Nina was shot at least 6 times. She was covered in blood and thrown out like she was nothing. How could someone do this? I have been working with the sheriff's department in Hale Co., in Greensboro, Alabama. They have brought up charges on Percy Lunsford. His charges include a class c felony for aggravated animal cruelty, and 3 misdemeanor charges for reckless endangerment, theft of property and trespassing. Although I am glad he will be charged, this I feel is not enough. Her life meant so much more. Yes she was a pitbull. Yes pitbulls have a bad name. This dog was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around. Lunsford needs to pay in a criminal court as well as in a civil court for the pain he has caused to not only Nina but to my son who witnessed the whole ordeal. Nobody should see this happen to their pet, esp a kid. He needs to be held accountable for his actions. I am asking anyone that can donate to this fund to please do. It doesn't matter how little u are able to because it will all add up. I don't want Lunsford to get off east I just because I am unable to afford a lawyer.
