As many of you now know, Amy was recently diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis. Since sharing the news with family and friends, many have offered support and expressed a desire to help while she focuses on her treatment. We thought that creating a fund to help cover expenses during this time would be the most impactful, and the easiest way for those who are not local to lend their support. All shares and donations are greatly appreciated!

"On November 13, I went to the ER with a suspected flare up of diverticulitis, which was confirmed by CT scan. The CT scan caught something else. After 6 weeks of doctors visits, lab test, imaging, and consults, I have been diagnosed with cancer. The original diagnosis was Primary Peritoneal cancer, which does not have a fantastic prognosis. After further testing, they are now saying bilateral Ovarian cancer, even though I had a full hysterectomy (only a 4% chance of that happening.) My doctors seem to be using both terms interchangeably in my charts.

The treatment plan is that I will undergo 3 rounds of chemotherapy, the first of which will begin on the 9th. After the first 3 rounds, they will do some further imaging, and surgery if necessary, following up with 3 more rounds of chemotherapy.

Some of you already know that I am the full time caregiver for my boyfriend, who needs a kidney transplant, and we do his dialysis here at home. My daughter and granddaughter also live with us, so things have gotten a whole lot more complicated for our little family.

It’s hard for me to ask for help, but I recognize that I need it now more than ever. Would you please consider sharing this with your friends and family?
