Stand with the Robinsons in Their Time of Need

This is for the Robinson family. Mrs. Robinson lost her job unexpectedly at the worst time of year. Below I’ve attached her story. I know her family would be so appreciative of any and all support. ❤️

Britni’s Story:

My turn to talk…

This is not a pity post. This is an informational post and a request for specific prayers.

First, I want to say thank you so much for all of the calls, texts, and hugs these last few weeks. They have meant more than anyone could ever imagine. These last few weeks have without a doubt been some of the darkest times for me. There have been lots of lonely days and days when I truly was not sure we would ever see the end of all this.

For those that do not know, October 21st was the last time I got to see my 2nd grade babies. On October 18th I made a Facebook story post from our game in Elkins and tagged one of the most famous football songs ever in it, “Let’s Go”. This song has been played in our home stadium at almost every single home game. What I did not know is that I also apparently had it auto-caption the lyrics to this song. While the song I chose was the “clean” version, it listed the first letter and asterisks for 2 expletives included in the other version of the song. A “friend” snapshot this and sent it to HR for Prairie Grove School District. After a week-long “investigation” (even though I admitted to posting it and deleting it the very minute I realized what happened), I was told that I had left it for over 48 hours (impossible for a Facebook story) and that I could resign or be terminated. To say I was shocked would be the understatement of the century. Over 7 years of pouring my heart and soul into any kid that walked through my classroom door was thrown away within a matter of minutes. Anyone who truly KNOWS me knows I would never have knowingly posted something that could even remotely be considered controversial or racial. This includes all of my previous students and Drew’s athletes that we have poured our souls into. A simple text saying “girl, did you know what you posted?” would have sufficed. I was in coach’s wife mode after posting it and didn’t check Facebook for a bit. Again, if you KNOW me, you know being a coach’s wife is one of my favorite things and I am a die-hard fan when those games start!

What I need from my TRUE friends and family…….prayers. I am devastated but I know there is a plan greater than anything I can imagine. It doesn’t remove the sting.

I need you to pray for me as I am considering transitioning away from education altogether and that scares me but I want to go where I am needed and appreciated. This will take time and prayer and I want to be open to all situations. I need you to pray for Drew and our own 2 kids. They have supported me from day one and continue to keep me afloat. The kids know another change may be coming for our family even though we thought Prairie Grove was our forever home. Pray for my parents who just moved 5 miles up the road and may be moving again if we choose to leave! LOL! Pray for my second grade babies…..I want the rest of their year to be everything they wanted. I hope they get a teacher that knows how special they are. 20 of my 23 were with me last year and their parents allowed me to “loop” with them and have them a second year in a row. To say that I KNOW and LOVE those kids does not explain our relationship. I am so grateful for the time I had with them. Pray for their parents, they have fought for me for almost 4 weeks and their concerns have been dismissed by the Superintendent and School Board. Pray for the person who “reported” me. I hope they are satisfied with this outcome. Last but certainly not least, pray for the educators in the Prairie Grove School District.
