Best Friend's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Greetings & salutations! I'm Sam & I'm starting this fund for my puertorican best friend, Liz. Those of you who have had the chance to meet her understand that she is genuinely the nicest, sweetest, most fun-loving, crazy, very stubborn person here. Help Liz's 3-Breast Cancer Obstacle Fund.
On 4/28/15 my best friend Liz was diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 2 breast cancer. Her cancer is non responsive to hormone therapy which required that she underwent immediate surgery & removal of 2.5 tumor in June 2015. While her lymph node removal showed it hadnt spread, her magins came back with cancer cells. The triple negative tumor was so aggressive that chemotherapy; which included 4 doses of red devil, adrianycin & herceptin & 16 doses of taxol & tamoxifen was done from july to dec 15 and finally radiation was administered for the full 35 rounds & 7 weeks starting in Feb ending in April 2016. These funds will help her cover expenses outside of insurance.

I saw her after her operation & her port instillation & bought her black wig so she could hide it from her grandfather whom she loved & adored & recently passed. Liz is lucky, she has insurance. However, she wasnt prepared for her financial challenge and how high her copays were for some of these treatments. Liz tried to work as much as possible, with only taking 3 weeks off after her lumpectomy & working through chemo. She volunteers & is the type of person whom realizes there's others that are in more need than her, so she never requested any financial help or any cancer group help.
she beat it so far. she just went to her 2nd check up & got the good new that she's still cancer free. She wasn't so much upset that she had been diagnosed with cancer but upset about how much it would effect her family, her job and her life. She didnt have time for cancer. She didn't even tell her mother, her neighbor told her mom. she doesn't call herself a cancer survivor, just a chemo survivor.
Liz never thought that I would ever start one of these gofund mes but many of these appointments and follow ups have began to become a huge financial burden.
I am in a situation where I realize she cant do it all by herself and that its okay to ask for help. So here I am humbled, grateful and very appreciative in advance asking for your help & donations to help pay for her medical bills. If I am luck & raise more than her debt, I promise to donate it to any of my other friends whom have cancer or sloan kettering, because she would want that. Thanks so much & please spread the news. Every little bit helps!
