On December 16th, Billy Rowe was taken to Colville ER with a splitting headache like none other. His head was splitting, and his vision was blurred. His blood pressure was dangerously high, and they instantly went into stroke protocol mode. He was rushed into CT where they saw all of his blood vessels constricted... STROKE!!
He was ambulanced to Holy Family promptly where he underwent MRI scans, cardiovascular ultrasound, and an angiogram (where they enter the main artery in the groin, go up through the heart and into the brain to inject a dye everywhere to check for any blockages, and then use an artificial dissolving collagen plug to close the artery). After all was said and done and his blood vessels opened back up, a team of neurologists, cardiologists, and doctors determined he had reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS).
Following the angiogram procedure, he had a "Massive" hematoma (a collection of blood outside of the artery) that pooled from his groin down past his knee and took up his entire thigh.
While he is absolutely 100% healthy with all the testing done, and that this condition is brought on by stress + stimulants mimics a stroke.
Billy had picked up some ALP nicotine patches to aid in his goal to quit smoking and ended up overdosing on the stimulants in the nicotine pouches, and his body shut down.
As you can bet, bills have piled up, household items are low, and recovery is slow and careful as the artificial artery plug takes 90 days-ish to fully be absorbed by the body and ensure the closure of the artery, along with his massive hematoma that's painful.
We thank everyone for all the prayers for him and please keep them coming... but we could use a little help along the way from our friends, family, and community.
