Victim of Shooting

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and those who have supported my husband and our family the past year. It has been a very long road to recovery with multiple surgeries and continued therapy to come. Mentally it has been very difficult for him since he was the sole provider and he has not been able to work and provide for his family. we have gone through many hardships in the past year since that awful morning on September 7 th.  that was day that has changed our lives forever and one we will never forget. I has not been easy due to my husband's insurance and our family insurance lapsing due to his inability to work. I tried seeking employment during this Covid19 economy with very little success. Most job not lasting longer than a couple weeks at a time. To try to pay for my husband insurance $ 475.00 per month and now it has double that amount which its a lot and then daily cost of food its beginning to take its toll financially on us all.

Today he still has drain tubes in his stomach, and still requires his regular Dr. appointments for his recovery.  I have reached out to the Victims of Crimes but they are delayed in all the application process due to Covid  I have applied to the state for Medicaid but the process is taking long as well its delayed due to Covid. Gerardo is a proud man and has come a long way, but has a long road ahead of him before he can be released to work. Our hopes are that he will one day be able to work again what he truly enjoys doing. Thank you again for your continued thoughts and prayers and any support you could give will be greatly appreciated.
