Hi, I am Starla Aultman. I fell down and hit my head on a concrete step back in May 2025 .

At the end of August I started to display some stroke symptoms upon returning to work after Labor Day. I was sent out to get checked by the ER. It appeared that I had a brain bleed, so I was taken to Ascension St. Vincent's Brain & Spine Hospital in Indianapolis .Needless to say, I had brain surgery the very next day . My insurance claim was denied & so I had to start the appeal process .It took an extra week & 1/2 before my insurance accepted my appeal, at which time I was supposed to have already been transfered to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana . I was released from there & sent home on Wednesday September 17, 2025 .I have not been able to drive or work since my release . I paid all of my bills for September while I was in the hospital & now my checking account is in the red for recurring automatic payments being made to a couple of my creditors . I have not been able to pay my phone bill of $185. 00 and Verizon is threatening to shut it off. In a few days I have 3 different therapies I have to go to 4 times every week in Richmond.

My retired boyfriend has been trying to help me , taking me to appointments. But if I lose my phone I won't be able to get any more appointments. According to my short term disability paperwork I am not allowed to return to work until I am fully recovered and am able to do my previous position. That tells me I will be off work

at least until I finish all of my therapies.

And I'm afraid I may be put on permanent disability because my job position is so very fast paced & sort of stressful . The emergency room is already after $1400 for a CT scan & co - pays for all of my therapy sessions are $80 each . I had spent what money I had left on groceries & fuel for my car so I could get to appointments . I am embarrassed to have to ask for help , but I know it is desperately necessary at this point . Therefore, I kindly ask for your help in this situation .
