Hey y’all. I’m making this page to try to lessen the financial blow that’s coming from Radars vet bills. He started to to get “sick” last week and then earlier this week he started to urinate blood. I took him to the vet and got a bunch of tests run on him to figure out what was causing this. The results came back to say it wasnt something small like an infection or kidney stones but unfortunately is far more serious and likely bladder cancer. He has a follow up visit on Monday and then an ultrasound after to make sure. If he does have bladder cancer it means he won’t have a lot longer with me, less than 6 months with treatment and if the medication works (less than 20% chance) then he’d have maximum a year. I know everyone feels differently about what to do in this kind of situation. But for me and at his age (almost 12) I wouldn’t choose medication and would chose euthanasia. I know not everyone would feel that way and that’s why I’m adding this in here. If you feel you can’t support that decision I understand. His quality of life has diminished greatly the past few days and I know he’s in extreme discomfort. The ultrasound and and exam are $680 alone and euthanasia is anywhere from $300-$600. I don’t make a ton where I’m at right now and anything at all helps. I love this dog with the entirety of my heart. Watching him struggle this week and watching his quality of life diminish over the past few days has wrecked me. I don’t expect to hit the goal but if by the grace of god I do I will be taking down the go fund me. I don’t want anything more than what I would need and literally anything helps. I will add more updates as the appts go on but his current state is not good. If by the grace of God he doesn’t have bladder cancer (odds are pretty much zero for that) anything over the $680 would go towards more tests and medication. Or I will pull the fundraiser.
