Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are reaching out to you in a time of urgent need. Due to a series of unfortunate events, we are facing eviction and need your help to secure a safe place for the Krate. Our situation has become increasingly dire, and we are doing everything we can to stay afloat.
Challenges We’ve Faced: The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted our income, making it difficult to manage our expenses. Additionally, the building Record Krate Raleigh is in was sold, leading to numerous issues. Since the ownership change, we have been without air conditioning or heating, as the landlord has refused to make necessary repairs. We have also experienced several plumbing leaks and two walls of the building leak during heavy rain, causing three floods that damaged over 1,000 records and record bins. The persistent leaks have led to mold and a musty smell throughout the Krate, making it an unhealthy environment to be in. On top of all this, inflation has further strained our finances.
Our Plan: To address our situation, we plan to start a moving sale and list items online on platforms like Craigslist, Nextdoor, and Facebook Marketplace. However, we still need additional funds to cover our back rent, moving costs, secure a storage facility, and hire labor to help with the move. We are trying to avoid eviction and move to a safer environment as soon as possible.
How You Can Help:
Donations: We are seeking your support to raise the necessary funds to cover these expenses. Your contribution will help us pay back rent, move to a safer place, and secure a storage facility for our belongings. Any amount you can give will make a significant difference in our conditions and help us avoid eviction.
Volunteer Support: Can’t contribute financially? No problem! You can also help by volunteering to assist us with moving. Your time and effort are just as valuable and greatly appreciated!
Storage: Do you have or know of a place where we can store some of our inventory? Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please let us know!
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this challenging time. Your support means the world to us.
Adam
