A Bold New Voice in Scottish Theatre

We are DollsnRags, a new female-led theatre company founded by two passionate theatre makers, Jenna Stones and Lucia Ireland. After two years of collaboration, we are dedicated to bringing powerful, female-driven stories to the stage and amplifying the voices of women throughout history and in today’s political climate.

Our debut play, ‘Happy Ending Street’, is set in 1890s Edinburgh. Three sex workers, Bonnie, Pearl, and Frances, are filling up their pockets with coins in hopes of escaping their current lifestyle. Set against a backdrop of class oppression, gender inequality, and societal corruption, these three friends—each with different dreams—share a conviction of resilience and empowerment to fight against the oppression they face.

In order to bring ‘Happy Ending Street’ to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we need your help.

Why We Need Your Support

To bring our show to the world’s biggest theatre festival, we are fundraising to support essential costs such as:

- Venue Hire

- Fringe Registration

- Accommodation

- Advertising and Marketing

- Insurance and Production costs, including Costumes, Set, and Props

Our goal: £2,000 - Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal of reaching audiences and amplifying this important story.

Why This Matters

Women in theatre still face double standards, with a 37% pay gap (The Big Freelancers Survey, 2023).

Violence against women is a national emergency in Britain right now (Guardian, 2024).

Legislations are being enacted globally to control women's rights to speak, work, and maintain ownership over their bodies.

DollsnRags Productions aims to use this platform for conversation and change.

The stories of women in history are often erased, and with your help, we can give them a voice.
