Help our family recover from fire.

Life’s journey has not always been easy but on Sunday August 14th one of my worst nightmares came through when I heard fire alarms in my building followed by screams of pure horror. As many of you may know I am disabled and not independently mobile. It was only by the grace of God that my boyfriend Leon Walker was there to carry me down the steps on his back, as the smoke was so immense that we could not see or hardly breathe. It was a blessing that my children were at a near by park and did not have to endure such a traumatic occurrence. I was relieved to hear that no one in the building was seriously hurt but also destroyed to hear that the building was inhabitable. Leon, my sons Christopher, Jelani and myself have to now be focused on starting over from scratch and rebuilding. We know that as long as we have life and each other we will be good. We are in need of immediate funds to serve the purpose of housing while we look for a permanent home, housewares, furniture, clothes, school supplies and anything else that comes along with rebuilding a home. Our family understands that these are hard times for many but anything will help. We are also grateful for prayers and we ask that you guys keep them coming.
