Ten years ago my guardian angel, who I now call mom, came into my life. Along with her family, I learned what the word family meant. I understood what unconditional love was and that the support from family was stronger than anything in life and with that support you could overcome anything. I lived with this guardian angel for three years until my brother and I reconnected with our birth mother. Fast forward ten years, I am now 22 and moved out of my mothers house for differences I could not reconcile. I am now living a mile away from my guardian angel with her daughter, who I now call my sister, and her amazing family. Without these two woman and their family's in my life, I don't know where I would be.
Now for why I need your support. Two months ago my guardian angel came across an accessible van that would be perfect for me to use. This was would all me to go places with my family more easily. It would help me to feel more independent since I could now drive my power wheelchair into my van and hit the road. This is way easier than what we had to do in the past. In order to get my in my sisters van, I had to be taken out of my chair, lifted into the passenger seat. Then you had to take out a heavy ramp to load my very heavy power chair in to the back of the van, lift the heavy ramp back in to the van and do it all over again every time I went somewhere. So, once again my guardian angel came to my rescue and funded the money from her personal account to buy me this van. I can't work for an income, but I do volunteer my time at schools and hospitals as my way to give back to others since I can't repay people monetarily. With All of this being said, it would mean a lot to me to at least pay back some, if not all of the $4,500 my guardian angel funded me for this van with the help of other generous people out there.
So I wanted to first thank you for taking the time to read my story and know that words will never express how thankful I am for my guardian angel and all good people out there willing to help others. God bless!
