My mother, Nancy Dolan, was diagnosed with Stage 3C Invasive Ovarian Cancer in September of 2012. She has been bravely battling it ever since. She has had two major surgeries. She has tried several types of chemo, but unfortunately, the cancer continues to grow. My mom was told two weeks ago that she has less than a year to live. The current chemo treatments make her too sick to eat or sleep, so she has made the brave decision to stop treatment and live the rest of her life as happily and as comfortably as possible, with her family by her side. She will be under Hospice care; however, at this point she is still able to do everything for herself, and still living in her own home.
My mom is a fighter, and in her words: she's not giving up yet. She's going to continue to fight! She's an inspiration to our entire family, as well as her friends and loved ones; she has been nothing but a selfless mother, friend and role model throughout our lives. She's always put her children and grandchildren first and with that said I wish I could give back to her.
I have started this GoFundMe account to ask family, friends, loved ones, even strangers to make our last Christmas together special. I would love for her to have a little get away with her family wherever her heart desires. My heart is heavy. Our family, my sister, her two children, my two children and I, do not the means to do this, nor is time on our side to save the money on our own.
Memories last a lifetime and I want to give my mother the Christmas of a lifetime. You can help.
