Help XinYi walk

Donation protected
This beautiful little girl in the photo is Xin Yi.

My name is Andrea McLaren and I am a physiotherapist. In September I went as a volunteer to an orphanage in Henan Province , China. It is in Central China and is a poorer part of China. Whilst I was there I met little baby Xin Yi. She was born in June and abandoned as an orphan. This was not because of her beautiful nature and character and obvious intelligence. But because Xin Yi was unfortunately born with a Congenital Club right foot and deformed fingers on both hands. Her parents may not have been able to afford medical treatment for her, or perhaps were just shocked. I will never know the full reason for her abandonment.

In Australia, Congenital Club Foot is successfully treated with the Ponseti method, a series of plaster casts stretching the foot and some surgery to assist. Congenital Club Foot babies born here lead full and normal lives and can participate in sport and any activity. They can certainly walk!

Xin Yi ,like many untreated Chinese babies , will be destined to a life of disability, unable to walk and lead a life of begging. This is a tragedy! Xin Yi , in addition , has deformed hands so will find using crutches or a wheelchair a double disability.

I have searched and found a facility in southern China that can take Xin Yi and treat her with the world renowned Ponseti method. And she has been accepted by the facility!

But it costs money. Money for her casts over the next 3 months. Money for the surgery. Money for her specialised boots/splints that she will need for several years. And money for travel to another far region of China from her Orphanage and accomodation and her carer's wage. Money that her Orphanage does not have.

Xin Yi can get treatment in this programme in early December. I need assistance to send the money to help her. She needs treatment as early as possible, to get the best result and to make a difference in her development and her life.

All money raised will go directly to her treatment and care and ongoing costs of treatment.

This means so much to me as I can see the possibility for such a small donation from many to make an immeasurable difference to this little baby girl. It breaks my heart to see such an easily treated condition disabling a beautiful girl for life.

Please help her. Please make a difference in this little girl's life who has no family to assist. Let us be her family and send her love and the chance to walk!
