Hi.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this specific Go Fund Me page, which is in support of my friend. [Please be mindful we have kept the child’s name anonymous to not ‘broadcast’ this as such. Although many local people are aware who the victim is, we would like to respect the family and the child involved.]
- My friend is the mother of a young victim of sexual exploitation and assault which happened in our small town of Llanelli. I am specifically asking for a set amount for donation in support of this child’s future rehabilitation, but more directly and importantly to be able to receive the support and help they need through a known foundation called “The Lucy Faithful Foundation.” This agency specialise and provide the service of impact/vulnerability assessments for those impacted by sexual exploitation and AIM2 Assessments. The agencies child sexual abuse and exploitation training is delivered by experienced practitioners and designed to meet the needs of the victim and family.
- Unfortunately this service is not free and does come with a price tag due to the Children Services holding a Multi - Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC MEETING) resulting in no further support to the family or the child, explaining to them they would have to seek private care and remain financially responsible for this. The cost for the risk assessments and the professional help this child needs is reflected in the fund raising goal. We will post updates of the individual costs once the foundation sends us the information pack. This child has also been referred to “Pathways” for counselling and has been on the waiting list for approx 2 years.
- We believe that this service will benefit the child and give the individual a chance of being rehabilitated following this traumatic experience. Everyone can agree that no child should ever have to go through what this innocent individual has. The impact it has had on the child has been life changing and the impact on the family throughout the whole process has been draining and they are determined to stay strong!
- As a tight knit community I ask you to give generously to what you can towards this child’s long term support. Not only has this child endured severe post traumatic stress disorder, the child is also a vulnerable member of society. Even more so now after this horrifying ordeal.
