Hi, my name is Laura and I’m hoping to relieve some of the financial burden my daughter and her family are facing. They have 3 little girls, Zoey, Jada and Lexi who were all diagnosed with epilepsy on top of Lexi having Juevenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Zoey having periodic fever syndrome. They have all been through many tests, procedures and surgeries. Some have required travel and being away for longer periods of time.

This last fall Jada started to have an increase in seizures. She was diagnosed at age 1 and a few years ago they diagnosed it as intractable epilepsy. It is hard to control and will never be able to be controlled with medication alone. Her seizures gradually got worse throughout this year. It started with missing a little bit of school and would have to be picked up after having one and now it’s been months since she’s made it through full day of school if she makes it at all. She has had many increases in medication and new ones added but nothing seems to work. She is an epilepsy surgery candidate so she has been going through multiple hospitals stays and ambulatory eeg’s to pinpoint what part of the brain they are coming from. The hospital bills, loss of pay and travel have taken a toll on their family financially. They have yet to pinpoint the seizures and until they do there will be more testing, traveling and time needed off of work. The surgery would also require time off for a long recovery. Once they pinpoint, they intend to remove that part of the brain with hopes that it will reduce the amount of seizures. They would also like to try diet therapy which would require another hospitalization.They have a long road ahead of them and any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read.
