Since I was 15 years old I had a dream of owning a restaurant and so I began working as a hostess in a local diner. I also had dreams of educating and helping younger members of society. I have been lucky enough to be a teacher for seventeen years. While bartending in the Lower East Side to supplement my income an idea sprouted in my mind and I knew it was time for me to open up the restaurant I long dreamed of.
I knew the Lower East Side needed breakfast burritos and so I created a menu and popped up the jetty. In the short time it was open it was a hit. It would be a dream come true to turn this into a brick and mortar store where not only I could continue with my creativity and knowledge of food, but also continue to provide a positive and supportive environment that patrons love to return to.
While I have private investments for part of my funding I still need money for a build out and operating costs. It has been a privilege to build the regular clientle I have found in the Lower East Side and East Village and would be so honored to have past and future customers involved in making this dream a reality. I have collaborated with local businesses to provide some rewards that I think will help the jetty as well as the community. I hope you find these and the others exciting! I am looking to get the funding in time to secure the space I found after searching for a year and a half. Please view my video above to witness my burrito journey and see the burritos as well as the response to the pop up.
"Let's give the people what they want - I know they want burritos!"
