Hello All,
My name is Hannah Thomas, younger sister to Paul Thomas.
I am writing this message to you because our family is in need of your prayers, positive thoughts, and support at this time.
On September 14th, approximately one month before his 51st birthday, Paul suffered a stroke. It was no surprise that after Paul reported to Northside Hospital by way of ambulance he was immediately admitted. His routine consisted of frequent vital checks by the medical staff, and medication along with numerous tests.
After over two weeks in the hospital, we are elated that he is now back home. The hiccup is that for years he has had two outstanding tools he’s relied on, his voice and his hands. Ironically, Paul does not have a traditional “desk” job. His hands are usually quite busy inspecting auto parts for sale at his Mazmart facility outside of Atlanta, GA. As he’s come into his own, Paul has also began ascending the steps to a career in broadcasting, following in the footsteps of our late father, Captain Franklyn Bobby Thomas. With limited mobility on his right side and impeded speech it’s going to be a fight, but Paul is up for the challenge. The ability to move and speak are both things many of us take for granted and we know for Paul, it is his career.
Paul is truly like none other and I am beyond proud that he is my big brother. His devotion and grounding in spirituality has been the glue that holds the Thomas children together.
Paul’s baritone voice and contagious smile has the ability to brighten any of our worst days.
Many of you have already reached out asking how to help and we are so very grateful for the kindness and consideration all have displayed up to this point. Unfortunately, Paul does not have health insurance. With the medical bills accruing from a two plus week stay to ongoing therapies and lifestyle adjustments, it all makes for a pretty expensive ordeal.
This GoFundMe page has been created to help cover some of the costs associated with Paul’s medical expenses from the hospital stay and would potentially allow him to start his rehabilitation journey.
The Thomas Family truly appreciates every thought, prayer, word, and deed placed into the atmosphere for Paul’s benefit. With your help, we are hoping to see Paul to a full recovery.
